Even in emails, Geneviève Thauvette struts. At age 24, she’s still considered an emerging photographer, but her mature work is both charged and obvious, and always clever. This confidence gives her an ability to find “morose or erotically charged contexts” within her Ottawa home.

Below the tree line in a tree. Something like Myst, but with less puzzles. Or Weimar Berlin.

What was your greatest misfortune?
Fear.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
1) Use an accent aigue with a French verb if you can replace it with “vendu” and the sentence still makes sense, as in tu as mangé (vendu) toutes mes pommes!
2) Finish the verb with “er” if it can be replaced with “vendre” as in on va manger (vendre) ses pommes…shh!
What is your greatest extravagance?
Gesticulation. It’s abundant and relies on nothing else.
What is your favourite journey?
Recurring dreams to the outer outer outer outer outer space city!
What is your greatest regret?
Not singing at karaoke.
What talent would you most like to have?
Astral projection.

My camera.
